Opticians e-learning module

Working with Vision Express, the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust has produced a series of e-learning videos about retinoblastoma aimed at both optometrists and in-store staff.

Part 1 is aimed at non-optometrist staff. Building on the Opticians Protocol, it describes the main signs and symptoms of retinoblastoma, and what to do if a parent presents at a store having noticed any of these in their child.

Part 2 is delivered by Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist Mr Ashwin Reddy. Aimed at optometrists it describes in detail presentation, examination and referral of suspected retinoblastoma.

Part 3, delivered by Consultant Ophthalmologist Mr Manoj Parulekar, is also aimed at optometrists and describes the treatment and possible long term effects of retinoblastoma.
