Nine deserving children have been given awards for their bravery by the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust

The inspirational youngsters were nominated by their families for acts of courage in dealing with their diagnosis and treatment for retinoblastoma, or for bravely supporting their siblings through their cancer journey.

The awards were created to honour both the tremendous resilience that children with retinoblastoma have shown, despite all they have been through, but also to acknowledge the fantastic support given by brothers and sisters, whose lives are often turned upside down too.

The children were given their awards at our latest members’ day at Edinburgh Zoo, Scotland. It was a fabulous day, attended by 40 people, giving families a chance to chat to CHECT staff and meet others in their region who have also been affected by retinoblastoma.

Thanks to everyone who came, we hope you had a great time – we certainly did!

Congratulations to all of our CHECT Champions:
