The cost of the weekend is being significantly subsidised by CHECT to help as many members as possible attend, enabling tickets to be offered at a much lower price than booking direct with Warwick Castle.
Prices are per room regardless of occupancy and include two nights bed and breakfast accommodation, a full programme of events and activities right across the weekend and one days entry into Warwick Castle.
Ways to pay
You can purchase your tickets in one go using a debit or credit card. We’ve also enabled Klarna at checkout, giving you the option to spread the cost of the weekend through instalments.
What kind of activities will there be?
Your ticket includes entry to Warwick Castle all day Saturday, giving you access to everything the castle has to offer. From Zog Playland and the spectacular Trebuchet Show to Birds of Prey displays, the Horrible Histories Maze, the Kingmaker exhibition and much more, there will be plenty to see and do throughout the day.
Alongside the castle attractions, CHECT will be running a programme of bespoke activities (subject to confirmation) across the weekend, with opportunities to relax, have fun and spend time with others affected by retinoblastoma.
Coming on your own? You certainly won’t be the only one. Many people come to CHECT events without knowing anyone beforehand, so we’ll have informal activities designed to make it easy to join in, start conversations and get to know people naturally. There’ll be no pressure – just plenty of opportunities to get involved at your own pace and feel part of the weekend.
Activities for adults
- Retinoblastoma talk by an Rb professional
- Morning yoga
- Bar area for drinks and a chat
- VI-friendly ‘touch’ tours of Warwick Castle

Throughout the weekend, there will be opportunities to unwind and try something new, from morning yoga sessions to VI-friendly touch tours that bring Warwick Castle’s history to life through hands-on exploration. Guests can also take part in an interactive sports and fitness session, designed to be enjoyable and accessible for all.
Of course, some of the best moments often come from simply spending time together. Whether you’re catching up with old friends, meeting new people over a drink in the bar area, or chatting with CHECT’s trustees about the charity’s work and future plans, the weekend offers a welcoming space to share experiences, build connections and celebrate 40 years of CHECT alongside the wider Rb community.

- Archery with the knights
- Castle dungeon tours
- Meet people your age who don’t need the backstory

More information
Families can look forward to a weekend filled with magical experiences designed to entertain, inspire and bring people together. Each evening, Warwick Castle’s enchanting atmosphere will come to life with knights and princesses, interactive storytelling and opportunities to learn exciting sword skills. Whether stepping into a fairy tale or imagining life as a medieval warrior, younger guests can fully immerse themselves in the adventure.
Creative activities will be available throughout the event, including colouring and crown making, giving children the chance to unleash their imagination and take home a special keepsake from the celebration.
One of the most anticipated moments of the weekend will be the CHECT Champion Awards Ceremony, where we recognise and celebrate the achievements, resilience and contributions of members of the Rb community. This inspiring event is always a highlight, shining a spotlight on the remarkable individuals who make our community so special.
There will also be a castle-themed party packed with games, music, dancing and plenty of fun. It’s a fantastic chance for children to make new friends, enjoy themselves in a safe and welcoming environment, and experience a celebration fit for royalty.
Accommodation
To help as many CHECT members as possible attend our 40th Anniversary Weekend, accommodation is limited to CHECT members and those in their immediate household.
Each booking is limited to one room or lodge per household/group. Unfortunately, this means we are not able to accommodate extended family members or friends, such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins or family friends.
We appreciate that every family’s circumstances are different. If there is an exceptional reason why you would like an additional person to attend, please email CHECT before making your booking.
Requests will be considered individually and will depend on accommodation availability, venue restrictions and the need to ensure places are allocated as fairly as possible to other CHECT families.Â

FAQs
Activities
What ages is this event for?
The short answer is: all ages!
We want everyone we support to be able to come together, enjoy the weekend and feel included. That’s why we’re planning activities for a wide range of ages, from babies and young children through to teenagers and adults.
Will there be a crèche?
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide a crèche during the weekend. However, parents and carers are very welcome to bring younger children along to many of the activities.
What are the CHECT Champion Awards and how do I nominate my child?
The CHECT Champion Awards were created to recognise the courage and resilience of children affected by retinoblastoma (Rb). This includes children who have undergone screening or treatment for Rb, as well as their brothers and sisters.
There are lots of reasons why a child might be nominated. Perhaps they have been especially brave during a hospital appointment, overcome a challenge with managing their artificial eye, coped brilliantly with treatment or shown incredible patience and understanding while their brother or sister needed hospital care.
Every child nominated as a CHECT Champion will receive a certificate and CHECT goodie bag.
You can nominate a child by completing our nomination form.

I’d love to come, but I’m worried about the cost. Can CHECT help?
We want as many people as possible to be able to join us for this special weekend, and we don’t want cost to be the reason someone feels unable to attend.
If the cost of attending would be prohibitive for you or your family, please speak to your CHECT Support Worker on 020 7377 5578 or email support@chect.org.uk.
Please don’t be afraid to get in touch. We’ll be happy to talk through your circumstances with you confidentially and explore whether we may be able to help.
