We held our latest CHECT Family Day at Techniquest science centre in Cardiff. Sarah, Beth and Petra from the CHECT team were greeted by glorious Welsh sunshine as we came out of the train station. We just about had time to start setting up for the day, when excited families began arriving. It was a lovely occasion to meet old friends and new over our packed lunches, before Sarah challenged everyone to a game of human bingo. We had to find out lots of info about everyone else there – the hardest thing was finding someone who didn’t like chocolate! The first to complete the challenge was Ella, in superfast time! It was time then to celebrate our CHECT Champions – children and their siblings who had wowed their parents with their bravery and resilience through their Rb treatment. Everyone then had some time to explore the wonderful exhibits at Techniquest (some of the parents remembered visiting when they were at school!), before getting back together for some serious science-related crafting. Windmills were created, rockets launched, and some amazing art created, whilst parents chatted with each other. The final treat was the live Science Show!
