Children and teenagers across the UK have been raising vital awareness of retinoblastoma and helping Vision Express to launch its new network of stores.

Since the beginning of May, 21 CHECT ambassadors have attended ribbon cutting ceremonies at stores following Vision Express’ acquisition of Tesco Opticians at the end of last year.

Many of the events happened during, or around, World Retinoblastoma Awareness Week last month, and have achieved widespread coverage in the local media, helping to make more people aware of this rare cancer and its symptoms.

In total, our amazing ambassadors have attended 37 Vision Express store events so far in 2018. We’d like to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you for taking part, and we hope you had a wonderful time.

Vision Express has been a proud partner of CHECT since 2010 and has played an invaluable role in helping us to raise awareness of retinoblastoma, as well as generating significant funds to support our work.

Vision Express CEO Jonathan Lawson said: “We are incredibly grateful to the children and families from CHECT, for giving up their time to help us to raise awareness of Rb and eye health. The courage and determination that each of them shows never ceases to amaze me.

“This is a hugely exciting time for the Vision Express family, and we’re delighted to welcome new team members to the company and provide a seamless eye health service to former Tesco optical customers. Crucially, we’re pleased to now be able to offer our vision expertise in a convenient location to residents.”
