Real impact – Junior’s Story

Junior was diagnosed with retinoblastoma when he was only three-years-old.

Initial tests at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London revealed that Junior had a large tumour in his left eye. The extent of the cancer meant doctors at The Royal London Hospital then had to remove the eye in order to save his life.

Despite everything he has been through, Junior has retained his sense of humour and love of life. His mum Courtney says: “He still loves the outdoors, playing in mud, going to theme parks and running around. Perhaps unsurprisingly, he has become very attached to us, but slowly he is starting to regain his independence again.”

You can help children like Junior by setting up a regular donation today. With your support, we can ensure that no family faces this journey alone.

£10 could fund a Pip the Penguin, a toy given to our brave children adjusting to life after enucleation (removal of the eye/s). Pip helps children understand and find courage during one of the toughest moments in their lives.
