Let’s be honest, things were pretty bleak for all charities back in March when we entered the first lockdown. At the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust, we were facing a loss of at least half of our income from fundraising events.

So we tried something completely new, reaching out to a UK audience of virtual fundraisers – some of whom had never heard of retinoblastoma before, let alone our small charity – challenging them to do 2021 Squats in January.

The response has been overwhelming! Whilst there are still challenging times ahead, this event has really helped make up for our lost income, ensuring that we can continue to offer support to all families in the UK with a retinoblastoma diagnosis.

What is more, we’ve made some new friends and supporters along the way, who have further raised awareness of eye cancer and our work. As a thank you, and to officially announce the fundraising total, we’ve put together this video:
