Darren Harris has been CHECT’s patron since 2012. He has supported several fundraising events including Ride4Sight and Art4Eyes. He’s also a member of the Beyond Rb group, having been diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma; as well as the parents’ support group, having a child inherit the condition. However, he is particularly passionate about the new teenage group, as he recognises this was the most challenging time of his life.

A former application developer, Darren is better known as England’s most capped blind footballer, and is now a sought-after speaker, facilitator and coach on overcoming adversity.
