Help with costs

We want everyone to have the opportunity to come to this event, so if the cost of attending would prove to be prohibitive, please don’t hesitate to speak to your support worker to discuss this.

What is your refund policy?

If we need to cancel the event for any reason, a full refund will be given to anyone who has already paid for tickets.

If you book tickets but are then no longer able to attend, please let us know ASAP by calling us on 020 7377 5578 or emailing events@chect.org.uk. If you cancel up to 14 days before the event, a full refund will be given. However, we regret that we can’t give a refund after this time.

Can I make an additional donation?

This event has been heavily subsidised by CHECT to keep costs as low as possible for our members and ensure everyone has the opportunity to enjoy it. We’re a registered charity and we don’t receive any government funding so we rely on public donations to pay for our work. If you would like to make an additional donation towards the cost of the weekend, there is an option to do so when you book. Thank you for your support.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

ACCOMMODATION

What is the accommodation like?

The accommodation is university style, in single, twin and triple rooms. Families will have their own rooms but will need to share communal facilities with other families (these will all be members of the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust).

Ensuite bathrooms are provided wherever possible but where they are not available, bathroom facilities will be shared with a maximum of one other family.

Please note that while each corridor of rooms is secured by a lockable front door, doors to individual bedrooms don’t lock. Each corridor will be shared by a maximum of three families, all members of the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust.

Can I choose who I share with?

Yes! If you would like to share with a particular family or individual, simply email us at events@chect.org.uk and we will do our very best to accommodate this.

What if I don’t want to share accommodation?

We have a very limited amount of accommodation available for families who do not want to share communal facilities and would rather have their own exclusive space. These can be reserved on a first come first served basis at the point of booking and are charged at a premium of £60 per adult and £30 per child for the weekend.

Do I need to bring towels/bed linen?

Bed linen will be provided but please bring your own towels and toiletries.

Will cots be provided?

Unfortunately we can’t provide these, so if you are coming with a little one, please bring your own travel cot. There is plenty of space in the rooms to set this up.

Will other groups be there?

The venue has capacity for up to 900 guests so there may be other groups there at the same time as us. However, they will not be sharing accommodation with us.

Is the accommodation accessible?

Disabled rooms with wheelchair access and ensuite wet rooms are available. Please let us know in advance if you require this by speaking to your support worker or emailing events@chect.org.uk. Guide dogs are very welcome.

CATERING

What food will be provided?

Three hot meals a day will be provided. There are vegetarian options available at all meals as standard and the venue can cater for specific dietary requirements – if you have any, please let us know in advance by emailing us at events@chect.org.uk.

Meals will be at set times, which will be provided in your pre-arrival pack. If you get peckish outside of these hours, the venue has a café which is open for refreshments and light snacks throughout the day. Anything ordered from this café isn’t included in the price of your stay, so you’ll need to pay for this.

We will also provide tea, coffee and cold drinks throughout the day.

Are there highchairs?

Unfortunately the venue can’t provide highchairs. If you are bringing a little one, please bring your own highchair.

What about alcohol?

Alcohol isn’t allowed in the dining room but there is a licensed bar at the venue which is open from 12.00pm until 12.00am where you can enjoy an alcoholic beverage. This isn’t included in the price of your stay so you will need to pay for any drinks consumed in the bar.

This bar is reserved exclusively to CHECT members on the Saturday evening.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
