Retinoblastoma and me – for children and young people

Welcome to our area for children and young people (and their parents and guardians!) to find out a bit more about retinoblastoma, treatment and life at school. If you or your child has/had retinoblastoma, please click on one of the links below to take you to a section written specially for different age groups.

Pip the Penguin

Thanks to a generous donor, CHECT were able to design and produce a soft toy to enhance and support children’s understanding of an enucleation. Named by our members – Pip the Penguin is available to be gifted to children who have undergone or who will undergo an enucleation. Pip has one removable eye, and can be used by clinicians or family members to help explain and normalise an enucleation to a child, siblings and friends.

Contact our support team for more information on Pip!
